Knowles "Al" Lee Allen, 89, passed from this life on November 28, 2013, at the home of his daughter Debbie in Carson City, Nev.
Al was born June 5, 1924, in Los Angeles, Calif. to Frank and Florence Allen. Al lived most of his life in southern California and moved to the Winnemucca area in the early 70's. He was married to Helen Allen for 42 years raising four children.
Al served his country in World War II as a member of the Army Air Force.
For over 40 years Al was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnemucca, the Lions Club and Mason's. Al loved being with family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, camping, his church, working his ranch and woodworking.
Al is survived by his children Debbie Dolan (Kevin), Roberta Savage, Jim Haley (Janice) and Paul Haley, with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and Sister Helen Miller.
Al was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Florence, his wife Helen and family members Gary Allen, Michael Allen and Chip Savage.
The family sends many thanks to the Veterans Administration and Gentiva Hospice Care in Carson City, for the care given Al in his final days. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the local Salvation Army.
