WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County School District has announced the dates for this spring's kindergarten screening sessions.
Kindergarten screening/registration for the 2012-2013 school year will take place next week from Monday, April 9, through Thursday, April 12, at the West Hall of the Winnemucca Convention Center.
Children need to have completed their 5th birthday prior to Sept. 30, 2012, in order to be eligible to attend kindergarten. Parents are urged to call the school their child will be attending in order to set up an appointment for screening.
Screenings for Grass Valley Elementary School will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 9, and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10.
Screenings for Sonoma Heights Elementary School are scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 11.
Screenings for Winnemucca Grammar School will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 12.
Each child being screened will need his or her original birth certificate (or a copy) and immunization record. Registration will include screenings for speech and vision. School health officials will also make sure each child's immunizations are up to date.
