A memorial and graveside service was held for Kim Ruiz, 48, at Lovelock Firehouse on Jan. 3, 2014 at Big Meadow Cemetery in Lovelock, Nev., with military honors by the War Veterans Memorial Association.
Kim passed away after a short illness Dec. 30, 2013, at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
Kim was born April 2, 1965 to Bill and Ramona Kienenberger, in Malta, Mont., along with her twin sister, Kelly. Kim grew up and attended school in Dodson, Mont., and lived on the family farm. She loved animals and spent many hours helping her Dad fix cars, round up cows and shoot gofers. Dad always said he didn't need a son because he had Kim; she was a daddy's girl. We are at great peace knowing he welcomed her into heaven with loving arms.
Kim was active and excelled in sports in high school, something she and her sister, Kelly, enjoyed together. She was a happy person who enjoyed the farm, sports, high school and an extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
After finishing high school in Dodson, Kim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served her country. She then moved to Nevada and started her life there. She worked in safety and was presently employed as the safety manager at Eagle Pitcher Mine in Lovelock.
She was beyond knowledgeable in her field, very well respected and she excelled in her profession. Kim also worked as a massage therapist, which was her love and calling. Kim's healing touch blessed many with this beautiful gift. In addition, Kim served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. She treasured this time and cherished her many friendships from the department.
Kim was a wonderful mother to her three sons, Tevin, Landon and Kelton. We can rest assured she is now resting in peace in the loving arms of God where she belongs. May she watch over each and everyone one of us. May we love deeper, laugh harder, smile more, forgive always, speak softly and be kind to each other, because life is short. Life will never be the same for many of us, but we will meet, hug and kiss again. We say goodbye to a beautiful daughter, mother, sister and friend, may you go fly with the angels and keep watch over us always.
Kim is survived by: her three sons; her mother Ramona; sisters Hope Wamsley (Randy), Kelly Kussy (Ken) and Penny Haas.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Bill; grandparents, Chet and Rose Kienenberger; and Raymond and Margret Williams.
