Recently, Vickie Rock presented her opinion (Humboldt Sun, Jan. 22-24) of Sheriff Kilgore's "audacity" to write to Vice President Biden regarding our constitutional rights under the Second Amendment. Yes, Mr. Kilgore was elected sheriff of Humboldt County, and he is "king" regarding law enforcement in this county. The sheriff is elected and not appointed because this office does trump federal law enforcement if he so desires. He can also raise a posse (militia) as he sees fit. To Vickie Rock, I say, "Welcome to rural Nevada." And to Sheriff Kilgore, most of us say, "Thank you!"
