LOVELOCK - The Extreme Tour came and went in a whirlwind of competitions. On Oct. 30 the skateboard and bike competitions were held at the Lovelock Skate Park.
TJ Donavan came in first place in the bike competition for catching the most air.
Edwardo 'Lalo' Espinoza came in first place in the best overall skateboarding maneuvers. In second place was Colton Wanner and third was taken by Billy Osborne. All winners received Extreme Tour T-shirts and or CD's from Extreme Tour bands.
The following night at the Tour's four band concert the Tampico Challenge was the hit. The Tour's organizer Scott Lack offered $100 to anyone who could drink a gallon of Tampico in five minutes without throwing up. The competition was held the night of the concert, Oct. 31, amongst all sort of costumed ghouls and goblins. The Challenge turned out to be harder than anticipated by those who entered the competition. Four brave souls, Sage Bonta, Brandon Garcia, Tevin Ruiz and Daniel Bohan entered the contest, although none could finish feat. Lack said they had only 4 winners through out their 46 stop summer tour.
"That's four more that we have had on any other tour," Lack said.
All in all it was two days filled with extremes even down to the music of the bands. Members of the bands mingled with the youth while not performing building friendships and a fan base.
"They are a great bunch of kids," Darin Schrag of the Colton and Zara Band said the night of the concert.
