Keith E. Hemp

Born on Aug. 5, 1935, in Waukau, Wis., Keith passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2014, in Reno, Nev., surrounded by loving family.

Keith is preceeded in death by his parents, Ellis and Ethel Hemp, son Tracy Denver Hemp and granddaughter Tiffany Heidemann.

Keith is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Wendy (Mike) Heidemann, son Kevin (Vonni) Hemp, grandchildren Joshua Heidemann, Paige Heidemann, Ashley Hemp, and Katryna (Lucas) Alexander, sister Lorna Jean Debroux, nephew Mark Debroux and niece Melissa Strike.

Keith grew up in Wisconsin where he attended Omro High School. He played football, basketball and also played the trombone for the H.S. band. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1954 to 1956. Keith married Nancy Stuebs on March 5, 1960, then together they moved to Lovelock and have called it their home ever since.

He worked in the mining industry until 1968 at which time he began his career with Sierra Pacific Power Co. where he worked until his retirement in 1992.

After his retirement Keith and Nancy traveled all 50 states before settling half the year in Lovelock where Keith loved helping family and friends complete any projects there were to be done. The other half of the year they called Crescent City, Calif., home, where Keith loved deep sea fishing and crabbing, and of course helping out with projects with the many friends he had made there. Keith was a quiet, reserved soul that loved his family.

Keith will be sorely missed by many both near and far .

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 1 P.M. at Grace-St. Francis Community Church in Lovelock.
