Kathleen Cecille Johnson passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2012.
Kathy had spent the past year surrounded and adored by family and friends as she battled cancer.
Kathy was born June 26, 1943, in Covina, Calif., to John and Ferne Corson. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in July of 2011.
Kathy worked for the Nye County School District in Round Mountain and Gabbs for 18 years and retired in 2008.
Kathy is survived by her two sisters, Carol Johnson; Fredda Stevenson; five children, Michael and Bert Mavity; Reese Johnson; Maryellen Harlow; Molly Reil; 19 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lynn Christensen; brother, Russell Hamilton and granddaughter, Vanessa Mavity.
Join us for a Celebration of her beautiful life on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church, 125 W. Tolas Place, right off of Maine Street. A viewing will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Light luncheon to follow.
