LOVELOCK - On average, July is the warmest month of the year. Weather in Lovelock for the month of July was pretty much typical of past years, Reno National Weather Service Meteorologist Marvin Boyd said.
"Although it was hotter than the average recorded temp, it stayed pretty much consistent with the last few years," Boyd said.
The average temperature in the Lovelock area for July ranges between 90 degrees and 94 degrees. Most days were over the average high of 94 degrees. There were 12 days throughout the month that hit 100 degrees or higher. July 1 set a new record for the day with 108 degrees.
The other record that was set in the month, oddly enough, was in precipitation. On July 4, .04 of an inch of rain was recorded.
"It's funny that that is a record. There's not a lot of rain in Lovelock in July," Boyd said.
The beginning of August is holding true to the historic average temperatures, but don't get too used to that; by the beginning of next week triple-digit temps are in the forecast.
