The committee working on making the Taste of Winnemucca Fourth of July event a success is seeking more vendors and sponsors.
Sixteen restaurants have committed to the event, but the committee is still hoping to reach the magic number of 20.
The event is in need of arts and craft vendors, committee chair Dawn Baldwin said.
The fee for vendors is $25 and any interested sellers can contact Baldwin for a sign-up form.
Sponsors are also sorely needed to make the event a hit. Some of the main things that are needed are donations of prizes from local businesses for competitions like the Waiter Olympics and people's choice award for best chef. All sponsors will be given placement for advertising.
The Silver State International Rodeo has already agreed to provide some of their children's activities for the event, but the committee is still working with SSIR organizers to coordinate the two events. Baldwin said one thing the committee is considering is moving the time of Taste of Winnemucca so the two events flow into each other rather than overlap.
To sign up as a sponsor or vendor, call Baldwin at (775) 304-9207.
