Judy M. Henrikson, 62, of Boise, Idaho, left this earth on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, after a courageous year-long battle with a cancerous glioblastoma brain tumor.

She was born in Winnemucca, Nev., on July 21, 1950, to Frank and Mary Alcorta Muguira and spent her childhood years in McDermitt, Nev.

After graduating from high school in McDermitt, she moved to Boise to continue her education. Then she started her accounting career with Albertsons, Inc. and the state of Idaho. Judy was then hired by Bill Borton and Claude Swarthout as the office manager/bookkeeper of Conveyor Engineering in 1978. She eventually became treasurer/controller, a job she held for several years until the company was acquired by FL Schmidt. Shortly thereafter Judy became CFO and held that position at the time of her diagnosis. She made many lifelong friends in the industry and the company and her co-workers were her extended family.

Judy was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Muguira in 2005, her maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as several close aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her mother, Mary Alcorta Muguira; daughter, Anecia Henrikson; brother and sister in law, Frank, Jr. and Mary Muguira; as well as a nephew Thomas Muguira and a niece Julie Muguira.

The viewing for Judy was held Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Summers Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. Funeral mass services were held Thursday, Feb. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boise. Grave side services were at Dry Creek Cemetery.

Judy's family wishes to thank all of the staff at Valley View Retirement Center and HomeWatch Caregivers for their wonderful care and friendship over the last several months as well as her many friends who called, stopped by to visit or sent a card. Donations may be made in Judy's name to the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, 601 W Grove, Boise ID 83702.
