John William Craspay Jr., 68, went home Jan. 4, 2015, after a three-year battle with cancer. John was born to John William Craspay Sr. and Gladys Fay (Rougeoit) on Aug. 14, 1946, in King City.
He attended a two-room school until he went to Paso Robles High School. He was raised on the family ranch until he went to Coaling College. He went to work as a ranch hand and married Clauidia (Shannon). He then worked for the Division of Forestry.
He then went to work for Texaco oil fields in San Ardo. He had two children, Barrie and John. John had a dream and went to Smithers, British Columbia, Canada. He worked in the sawmill, then found a great job with dairyland - similar to Model Dairy.
After two years, we both missed our family and came back to the states where he got his job back with Texaco. John retired from the oil fields and we moved to Lovelock to be by his son, John, and grandsons, Tyler and Cody.
John is survived by his wife, Claudia, of 48 years; parents, John and Gladys; sister, Darlene Lloyd (Evan); daughter, Barrie Medeiros (Bruce); son, John Craspay (Rachel); grandchildren, Janaye, Craig, Tyler, Cody, Crystal and Maggie and great grandchildren, Emma and Ayden.
A celebration of his life was held at Lovelock Community Church on Jan. 9, 2015. Pastor Chris Wenzel officiated the service.[[In-content Ad]]
