John Edward Hubbell, Jr.

John Edward Hubbell, Jr.

ROY, Utah - John was born Oct. 13, 1946, the second of four sons to John Edward Hubbell, Sr. and Wilma Amelia Bond Hubbell in Kansas City, Kan. He died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, of coronary artery disease.

The family moved to Tucson, Ariz., where he lived until 1989 when he moved to Las Vegas, Nev.

John joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 1968 and was given an honorable discharge in 1972. He was a retired IBEW Union electrician.

On Jan. 21, 1967, he married Robin Hedgcock and together they had four children, Christine (William, deceased) Holbert, Carson City, Nev.; Teresa (Jeff) Loehrs, Seabeck Holly, Wash.; Lori (David) Thompson, Benson, Ariz.; Scott E. Hubbell, Winnemucca, Nev. John and Robin later divorced.

In August of 1989, he met Anna Provence Morely and they married Dec. 19, 1992.

John was an avid sports nut and collector of "stuff" that caught his eye. He was extremely proud of his "man-cave" and loved to show it to anyone he could. John was an honest, trustworthy person who showed integrity with most of his choices and was well liked by those that knew him. He loved all of the children - his own and his stepchildren - beyond anything else. All of the grandchildren were his, even if not by blood. He was as quick as a fly to anger with a heart as big as the sky to love.

John is preceded in death by his father, brothers, Carl, Daniel, and Patrick, all of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, stepdaughter Shelly Berglund, and granddaughter, Nicole Berglund.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, mother Wilma, children Christine, Teresa, Lori Scott, and stepchildren, Michael Berglund and Richard Morley.

As per the request of John, he will be cremated and his ashes to remain with his wife.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Roy, 2025 West 5700 South, Roy, Utah.

A special thanks to Dr. Joseph Graham and Wendy Benson, and all of the staff at Ogden Regional Hospital.

Cremation entrusted to Lindquist's Roy Mortuary.
