On Friday Aug. 9, 2013, John Petersen of Copperopolis, Calif., passed away suddenly at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif. John was born on Nov. 13, 1945 in Stibnite, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Ruth Petersen of Emmett, Idaho.
John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friends. He was a man that gave all he could to those he loved. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sandy (Barredo) of Copperopolis, daughters Teri Billups of Modesto and Melissa (Joe) Dunning of Gridley, Calif.; grandchildren Andrew and Briana Billups, Cody, Riley, Gracie and Aubrey Dunning. Brothers Nick Petersen of Emmett, Idaho, and Denny Petersen of Snohomish, Wash., as well as many extended family in Nevada and Idaho.
A memorial service will be held on Aug. 24, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Battle Mountain Cemetery.
John will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
