John A. Equels was born on April 24, 1956, in Redlands, Calif., and left us on April 16, 2013, when he lost his courageous battle with cancer. John leaves behind his wife, Joyce Cox Equels, his mother, Edith, his two sons Christopher and Curtis and two grandsons, Alex and Ryan, as well as numerous friends; his father, Harold, preceded John in death.
John was a family man and loved camping, hiking and fishing especially at Big Bear, Calif., and in the Trinity Alps. When John was a teenager he retained a job of professional cliff diving, unbeknownst to his parents. He loved to work with his hands and took pride in his main profession - construction work.
John had a wonderful sense of humor, which he was able to retain until he peacefully slipped away.
