Jeffrey Olin Haggard 56, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, following an extended illness.
Jeff was born March 14, 1955, in Lima, Ohio, to James Olin and Wanda Jean (Fett) Haggard where he spent his growing up years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1973-1977.
Jeff became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in 1977 and moved west to Idaho shortly thereafter. He worked for the Amalgamated Sugar Company in Paul, Idaho. He married Carol Ann Doman March 16, 1984, in the Salt Lake Temple and in 1989 they moved to Battle Mountain, where Jeff worked in the Gold Mine for a year and a half before finding employment with Sierra Pacific/ NV Energy in Valmy as an instrumental technician.
Jeff got great enjoyment from reading history books, computer work, and riding his prized motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; seven children Brittany (Tyson) Ostler, Clinton (Rubi) Haggard, Matthew (Yesnia) Haggard, Angela (Brian) Roberts, Katrina Haggard, Valerie Haggard, and Emily Haggard, siblings, brother Ted Haggard of Montana and sister Jean (James) Agler of Ohio. He has three grandsons, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mark Haggard.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm., Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the Battle Mountain LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the service from 11:30 am to 12:45pm.
