Jaret Tyler Hertz, 22, of Lovelock, passed away July 22, 2012, at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, after a bicycle accident near Lovelock on July 5, 2012.

Jaret was born in Bellflower, Calif., on June 12, 1990, to Tony Hertz and Edna Galindo. Jaret spent his early childhood years in California and traveled often to visit his father in Nevada. Jaret's education began in California; he then relocated to Nevada and attended Pershing County Middle School and Pershing County High School until his junior year when he returned to California.

Upon his return to Nevada, Jaret was employed at Can Am Industries, Safeway and EP Minerals, where he was employed at the time of his death.

Jaret loved making music and frequently had friends at his home to "jam." He was enjoying his independence and being a part of the working world. He had discussed continuing his education in Reno and was looking forward to the new opportunities that would have afforded him. His easy-going attitude and kind-hearted nature endeared him to all who knew him. He was a true friend, loved life and never forgot anyone.

Jaret was blessed with a large family, all of whom meant a great deal to him. He is survived by his mother, Edna Galindo of Whittier, Calif.; father Tony Hertz, step-mother Kirsten Hertz, sisters Madison & McKenna Hertz, all of Lovelock; grandparents Hector & Ana Galindo of Los Angeles, Pat Wright of Lovelock , Jim Hertz of San Antonio, Texas, and Mike & Mike Gottschalk of Lovelock; aunts & uncles: Ana (Chiqui) Galindo of Whittier, Calif., Hector Galindo, Oxnard, California, Joe Gomez, Whittier, Calif., Dale & Lesa Hertz of Las Vegas, Leo & Kim Hertz of Bishop, Calif., and Tim & Cindy Allison of Pahrump, Nevada; cousins Ryan Drysdale of Los Angeles, Amanda & Kristina Hertz of Las Vegas, Zachary & Kaleigh Hertz of Bishop, Ryan & Billie Allison of Las Vegas & Skye Allison of Pahrump as well as godparents Juan & Jeanette Campoy of Henderson, Nevada. Many more family members and friends were touched by Jaret.

A celebration of Jaret's life will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pershing County Community Center on 6th Street in Lovelock with a reception to follow at the Hertz home at 700 17th Street in Lovelock. Kathy Jakolat will officiate.

The Hertz and Galindo families express their deep appreciation to all who have provided food, love and support during this difficult time. The community of Lovelock has reminded us all how blessed we are to live in such a caring, thoughtful community.
