Janet E. Holley was born Oct. 4, 1957, in Battle Mountain to the late Glenn Holley, Sr. and Kathleen Holley.
She graduated in 1972 from Battle Mountain High School and attended college in Colorado and Oregon from 1972-1974. Returning home she started working with the Lander County School District tutoring the Native American students, for 25 years. The past 11 years she worked as the Education Coordinator for the Battle Mountain Band Council. She enjoyed working with children and education so much she sat on the Education Committee, Johnson O' Mally Committee and other areas involving education.
Her favorite hobbies were: making blankets, cross stitching for all of her nieces and nephews, watching the cooking channel, and listening to country music. Most of all she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her mother Kathleen Holley of Battle Mountain, Sister Barbara (Larry) Gagnon of Whitehall MT., Donna Hill of Battle Mountain, Rose (Rich) Nehring of Battle Mountain; Brothers Glenn (Karen) Holley, Pahrump, Joe Holley and Jewel Vance of Battle Mountain, and Marty (Lucie) Holley of Battle Mountain, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Services will be held in Battle Mountain at St. John Bosco Catholic Hall on Saturday October 29, 2011 at 2:00pm.
