Jacob's Well to hold bake sale Aug. 9

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Jacob's Well Youth Center's first bake sale will be held in front of the youth center, across from Maverik and between the Chevron Station and The Hide-A-Way, on Aug. 9 from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.

As part of the effort to provide Battle Mountain with a fun and safe place for youth, organizers are encouraging all community members to support this special event by either baking or buying.

Calling all Battle Mountain bakers - we are in need of bake sale items for the event. If you are interested in contributing cookies, brownies, bars, and/or rice krispy treats, please drop off items at the youth center by 8 p.m. tonight. It would be greatly appreciated if your bake sale items are packaged and labeled, especially if they contain nuts.

Stop by for a delicious selection of home-baked treats on the morning of Aug. 9, or swing by the bake sale for a sweet treat to throw in your lunch for the day.

All bake sale items will be for sale at the discretion and generosity of the buyer. We will also be accepting general donations for the youth center, so if you are so inclined please donate. All donations are tax deductible.

All proceeds from the bake sale will go toward the center's purchase of a new air hockey table.

If you have any questions about the bake sale, please contact Blair Keller at the youth center at Blair@jwyc.org or (775) 635-8800.

Just as a reminder, the youth center will resume regular hours on Aug. 13. The youth center will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Jessica Arky by email at Jessica@jwyc.org or by phone at (775) 635-8800.

Jacob's Well Youth Center is a volunteer-run, faith-based nonprofit serving Battle Mountain youth since 2009. It offers a safe place for teens 12 to 18 years old in the Battle Mountain community.
