BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Winnemucca Publishing is celebrating its 10th annual Customer Appreciation Month during the month of August.
Members of the public are invited to stop by the Bugle office at 113 Carson Road and say hello and have a cookie.
"It's our way of saying thank you to the community, our readers, our advertisers and our vendors, the people who help us get the paper in the hands of our readers," Winnemucca Publishing General Manager Holly Rudy-James said.
"Hopefully, while they are here they will tell us what they like and don't like about the newspaper. This is just our way of reminding readers of how important they are to us, along with our advertisers, who use our newspapers to effectively reach consumers in Humboldt, Lander and Pershing counties," she said.
Winnemucca Publishing Managing Editor Steve Lyon also invited anyone who wants to stop by and say hello.
Lyon, who has been in the position of editor for one year, said public input is important to producing newspapers that inform and engage local readers.
"We are the best source for local news, but we always want to get better at giving readers the news they want and can use."
Lyon said the newsroom staffs are small but they do a good job of covering the communities served by Winnemucca Publishing.
"Week in and week out, we seek to put out newspapers that are factually accurate, fair and balanced and timely," Lyon said.
Winnemucca Publishing publishes the twice-weekly Humboldt Sun and the weekly Battle Mountain Bugle and Lovelock Review-Miner. All three offices are celebrating Customer Appreciation Month and offering free cookies.
Among its many other niche publications, Winnemucca Publishing also publishes the Nevada Rancher and Inside Northern Nevada, in addition to visitors guides and other print products.
