WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Police Department responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Hanson and Fourth streets on Nov. 30 at approximately 6:25 p.m.
The WPD investigation revealed that a Toyota pickup was traveling westbound on Fourth Street. The vehicle stopped for the stop sign then proceeded west, not seeing a Toyota SUV traveling southbound on Hanson Street. Thus, the pickup failed to yield the right of way to the SUV, the WPD said. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the SUV was transported by EMS to Humboldt General Hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup was cited for failing to yield the right of way at an intersection, the WPD said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
