IMLAY - Imlay Elementary School held it end-of-the-year ceremony and kindergarten graduation May 22. Some students showed their physical agility by jumping rope; others showed study values by memorization of state names and capitals.
Awards were given to fifth-grader Gavin Chapai, third-grader Dalton McNeff and fourth-grader Leanne McNeff for Outstanding Readers.
Awards for Academic Achievement were given to fifth-grader Gracie Montes and fourth-grader Leanne McNeff.
Third-grader Shelly Gokey received an award for Most Improved.
Dalton McNeff and Gavin Chapai received awards for Outstanding in Math.
Kindergartener Audree McGillic received an award for Perfect Attendance.
Parent volunteer Elizabeth Uhart was recognized for helping the students with their computer classes; Leslie Luke was recognized for 10 years of volunteering at the school. Luke is a retired school teacher who lives in Rye Patch.
