IMLAY - The Imlay Auxiliary hosted its second-annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, at the Imlay baseball field. Over 50 prizes were donated from local businesses to promote the joy of the season for the little ones.

"We just want the kids to have a fun time," Imlay Auxiliary Vice President Jonie Daniels said.

Daniels was credited by her other auxiliary members as being "a go getter" for collecting all the donations and organizing the event.

"Jonie did a wonderful job at getting so many donations and the local businesses were all so generous. We are extremely grateful for both of them," Auxiliary Secretary Terry Sherbinow said.

The auxiliary colored and hid 270 eggs and had 58 prizes to give out, which included 14 Easter baskets.

The exact count of children hunting eggs was not available, although Daniels estimated around 17 or 18.

The Imlay Auxiliary held its first hunt last year after area folks complained about not having an organized event close by. Their first year was successful, according to Daniels, "So we decided to make it an annual thing," she said.

"We will probably never be as big as the Unionville hunt, but we are trying to give the kids from all around the area an event they will have fun at," Daniels said.
