IMLAY - Well, hot diggity dog, the Imlay Auxiliary's next murder mystery dinner will take place on Feb. 16. It should prove to be a root'n toot'n good time. This is the third year for the Imlay Auxiliary's murder mystery dinner. Last year's dinner was "Murder at the Two Dues," a roaring 1920s Speakeasy. This year the group has decided to go a little further back in time to 1874 with "Murder at the Deadwood Saloon." Organizers plan to turn the Imlay Community Center into the Deadwood Saloon. The scenario of the evening is the after party of the first poker tournament at the Deadwood Saloon. The prize money will be awarded to the winner of the tournament at this party. With all the outlaws in attendance, will the prize money be awarded? Will the winner live to receive his prize? You will only know if you attend. "We have a lot of fun with our murder mystery dinner," said Imlay Auxiliary president Terry Sherbinow. "People get to dress up and most really get into their character." Sherbinow explained how the game works. "It's an interactive mystery game. There is no script so you don't have to worry about remembering lines. When a person buys a ticket they get a bio on their character and it just depends on them as to how they want to play their character. When they get to the party they get a little goodie bag that has more information on their character and some juicy little tidbits on some of the other characters. There are two objectives lists for their character to fulfill; one to do before the murder and one for after the murder. The objective lists are designed to help you figure out who the murderer is," she said. "It might sound a little complicated but after you get here and see what is going on it's really not. Some of our guests have come to the other murder mystery dinners and they really get into character," Sherbinow said. Characters that can be chosen include saloon owners, gamblers, business owners, saloon girls, southern belles, eastern dudes, Deadwood residents and many more. Included in the $25 ticket price is a pork loin dinner with green salad, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetable, with appetizers before dinner and dessert after dinner. Coffee or tea is also included with dinner; beer and wine will be sold separately. If you are looking for something different to do on a Saturday evening, consider attending the "Murder at the Deadwood Saloon" murder mystery dinner in Imlay.
