BATTLE MOUNTAIN - An "I'm a Survivor" assembly and Valentine's Party were held Feb. 14 at Eleanor Lemaire Elementary School.

The survivors who lost their offices were: Principal Amy Nelson, Secretary Amber Goddard, Librarian Gwen Samuelson and music teacher and IC coordinator Judy Dahl.

The disaster happened on Jan. 3 when the overhead pipes burst. The library was the most damaged, closely followed by the offices in the main office area.

Nelson still does not have her office back together nor is the library. These people were honored not because they lost their offices but because through it all they have shown good attitudes and sunny dispositions. They are role models to everyone.

At the event, there were four talent acts at the event. Drue Domagala did amazing hoola hooping. Danny Diaz performed ball tricks. Uliana Willingham and Mckenzie Lemaire did a skit about little sisters and the Bad Boys of Battle Mountain dance act was performed by Carter Quintana, Bradley Rogers, Avry Tucker and Jalen Freeman. Some of the Rachel's Club students brought cupcakes.
