On Monday, July 15, a female driver was driving a 16-passenger van headed westbound on Interstate 80 near mile marker 182 when she crossed the median, both eastbound lanes, and into the sagebrush on the east side, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The vehicle then caught on fire and burned to the ground. The van was carrying seven passengers and there were no serious injuries. The driver was transported to the hospital for observation, treated and released. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to NHP.
