WINNEMUCCA - A South Dakota resident was arrested March 27 by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office with nearly 2 pounds of marijuana.
Bryce Dean Bestgen, 24, was charged with transporting a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Bail was set at $25,000.
According to a news release, HCSO Sgt. Lee Dove stopped a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 80 near Winnemucca for a welfare check of the driver. The officer developed probable cause to believe the vehicle may have contained a controlled substance.
Bestgen gave the officer permission to search the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, Sgt. Dove discovered various packages containing miscellaneous amounts of a suspected controlled substance, marijuana.
Bestgen was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Detention Center in Winnemucca.
