A Nevada Department of Wildlife Hunter Safety Education class will be conducted Saturday, March 9, at the Civic Center in Battle Mountain. The cost of the class is $5 and is due at the door. A self-study workbook must be completed prior to the beginning of class and is available at the Cooperative Extension Office at 815 North 2nd St., (775) 635-5565. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1960, is required to provide proof of hunter education, in order to purchase a Nevada hunting license. You must pre-register by calling (775) 635-5565 followed by going online to http://ndow.org/ and following the hunter education links to Lander County.
