Humboldt-Toiyabe accepting project proposals for Humboldt Resource Advisory Committee's recommendation

WINNEMUCCA - Project Proposals are now being accepted by the Humboldt (Nevada) Resource Advisory Committee (RAC). Successful project proposals must improve or benefit National Forest System lands within Humboldt County and the economies of rural communities within the county.

Project funding is provided by Title II funds under the 2012 reauthorized Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (Public Law 110-343).

At least 50 percent of Title II funds are for road maintenance, decommissioning or obliteration, and/or restoration of streams and watersheds. More information may be found at the Secure Rural School website at www.fs.fed.us/srs.

Completed project applications must be submitted electronically or received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2012. Projects will be reviewed and recommended at the next Humboldt (NV) RAC meeting.

The Humboldt (NV) Resource Advisory Committee will meet at the Humboldt County Courthouse, room 201, 50 West 5th Street, Winnemucca, Nevada. The meetings will be held Aug. 15 and 22, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Projects should be entered directly online. It is recommended that the form is first downloaded, printed, and filled out, before entering directly on-line to prevent mistakes. Project proposals should also be presented to the RAC by the individual(s) authoring the proposal.
