WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt Volunteer Hospice is kicking off a one-month partnership with the new Bealls department store, located at 1500 W. Winnemucca Boulevard.

From March 1 - 27, hospice will be the non-profit organization of choice for Bealls "Month of Giving" campaign.

Bealls customers will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice when shopping in the store via the register pin pad. Donations can range from $1 and up.

"And those dollars add up," said Humboldt Volunteer Hospice Executive Director Sherry Smith, "so even though a donation might seem small to someone, it will give hospice a big boost."

Smith said hospice will keep 100 percent of all donations made during the month. Additionally, Bealls parent company, Stage Stores, has committed to make an additional donation to the local non-profit.

"We really want to thank Stage and our local Bealls manager Rich Stone and his team for selecting us as their March giving partner," said Smith.

"We are so excited about this opportunity and encourage our community to stop by Bealls to do some shopping and help our organization at the same time."

The mission of the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice is to honor and support individuals in the Humboldt County community who suffer from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness.

All hospice care is provided at no cost to patients. Families do not need a doctor's referral in order to access hospice services.

Hospice also operates the Frugal Flamingo Thrift Store, located at 720 E. Fourth Street. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Donations are gladly accepted during the store's hours of operation.[[In-content Ad]]
