Humboldt General Hospital has scheduled two dates to ensure all area youth get a free sports physical before official practices begin this summer.
For the sixth year in a row, HGH will offer free sports physicals to all Lowry High School, McDermitt High School, Winnemucca Junior High School and Humboldt County youth sports organization athletes who will participate in school-sanctioned or community sports.
Additionally, any other youth in need of a physical examination for other activities such as scouting are invited to participate.
This year, Lowry High School and McDermitt High School fall sports athletes only will meet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, on the main floor of Humboldt General Hospital's new medical office building. Last check-in is 6:30 p.m.
All other youth, including Lowry High School and McDermitt High School winter/spring sports, junior high, community sports, scouting and any others should attend the Saturday, August 16, physical examinations, scheduled for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., also on the main floor of Humboldt General Hospital's new medical office building; last check-in is 4 p.m.
On both days, students will be served on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointments will be scheduled.
Free physicals are only offered during each year's sports physical clinic and are not available free of charge from HGH providers at any other time.
Humboldt General Hospital will provide copies of the sports physical form that students will need. All students must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
