Kim Parks, Dana Johnson, Heidi Renteria, Connie Stillwell, Lisa Weber, Maria Miller, Tammi Francis and Teresa Berish committed hours of their own personal time from October 2011 through March 2012 in order to attend the evening sessions and complete the required coursework for the class offered by coordinators Val Byrnes and Connie Thomson from the Northeastern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program.

Math work stations are designed for students to work with a partner using instructional materials to explore and expand their mathematical thinking. The stations are a time for students to practice problem solving while reasoning, representing, communicating and making connections among mathematical topics as the teacher observes and interacts with individual students or meets with a small group for differentiated math instruction.

The preparation, classroom management and content knowledge required for the successful creation and implementation of the stations requires an immense amount of time, resources, and, of course, commitment. These educators are commended for their commitment to enhancing the education of students.
