After taking the winter months off, the Humboldt County Rodeo Club was back in action March 1-2 in Boulder City and March 15-16 to begin the spring schedule of the Nevada High School Rodeo Association.
Savannah Montero picked up two fourth-place finishes in breakaway roping with a time of 4.15 seconds and in the goat tying at 9.73 in the first performance in Boulder City.
Shaylee Robertson was fourth in barrel racing in a time of 18.094 to go with a ninth-place outing in breakaway roping at 8.410. Patrice Stewart placed 14th in pole bending at 26.319 and was 19th in goat tying with a time of 25.390.
In the second performance on March 2, Jake Logan and Luke Logan were fifth in team roping, stopping the clock at 34.390. Robertson posted a seventh-place finish in breakaway roping in a time of 7.01, was ninth in barrel racing at 18.435 and she was 22nd in pole bending at 32.852.
Dusty Robertson placed 15th in goat tying at 12.920, while Stewart was 18th in a time of 20.470. In addition, Stewart finished 19th in barrel racing with a time of 19.886 and she was 21st in pole bending at 32.016.
As the association moved on to Fernley, Maclyn Crnkovich finished second in barrel racing with a time of 18.106, on March 15. Crnkovich added a ninth-place finish on pole bending at 24.598.
Montero posted a runner-up finish in goat tying at 9.44 and she was 17th in pole bending in a time of 28.315. Kenadee Miller placed eighth in breakaway roping at 4.83 and Dusty Robertson was seventh in goat tying with a time of 11.82 and 15th in barrel racing at 19.305.
Shaylee Robertson finished 10th on barrel racing in a time of 19.058, while Patrice Stewart was 13th in barrel racing (19.203), 17th in goat tying (23.340) and 27th in pole bending (31.624).
Humboldt County pulled out a number of victories on March 16, starting with Montero in goat tying with a time of 8.05. She added a second-place finish in breakaway roping at 3.61 and was 22nd in pole bending at 28.085.
Crnkovich captured the barrel racing title with a time of 18.059 and was 25th in pole bending at 33.552.
Luke Logan and Jake Logan won the team roping at 7.40, while Luke Logan was second in saddle bronc with 67 points and seventh in tie down roping at 16.88. Shaun Mentaberry finished third in saddle bronc with 65 points and Jake Logan was ninth in tie down roping with a time of 18.01.
Shaylee Robertson placed eighth in pole bending with a time of 22.882 and 20th in barrel racing at 19.405. Dusty Robertson was 18th in goat tying at 13.570 and Stewart placed 19th in pole bending with a time of 27.746.
At the junior high level in Fernley on March 15, Quint Bell won the boys breakaway in a time of 4.22. Quint Bell and Cade Bell were seventh in team roping at 21.110.
Megan Miller placed seventh in pole bending with a time of 25.519, Kerstin Christiansen was 16th in goat tying at 20.650.
In the second performance on March 16, Quint Bell was first in ribbon roping with a time of 9.10 and fourth in goat tying at 12.530. Quint Bell and Cade Bell placed fourth in team roping in a time of 19.650. In addition, Cade Bell placed sixth in breakaway roping with a time of 14.240.
Megan Miller finished seventh in breakaway roping at 8.18 and was 11th in barrel racing at 19.416 and 11th in pole bending with a time of 25.597. Christiansen placed 16th in goat tying at 20.570 and was 27th in barrel racing in a time of 27.240.
The Humboldt County Rodeo Club has been off since the Fernley rodeo and returns to action Saturday and Sunday in Yerington.[[In-content Ad]]
