Humboldt County Rodeo Club performs at Washoe rodeo

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club was back in action last week with the Washoe rodeo and turned in a number of strong performances.

Luke Logan finished fifth in the tie-down roping last Saturday with a time of 18.150, while Jake Logan was 10th in the event at 24.730.

Patrice Stewart (6.16), Dusty Robertson (14.66) and Emalee Brown were (22.81) were sixth, eighth and ninth in breakaway roping. Robertson added a seventh-place finish in goat tying in a time of 10.960, while Stewart was 27th in barrel racing at 20.607 and 28th in pole bending in a time of 39.775.

Kenadee Miller placed 17th in barrel racing with a time of 19.404, Shaylee Robertson was 17th in pole bending at 28.136 and 26th in barrel racing at 20.506 and Savannah Montero finished 18th in pole bending with a time of 28.819.

Clay Stremler, who rides as an independent, won the performances in saddle bronc with a score of 55 points. He was the only rider to stay on for the full eight seconds.

In Sunday's performance, Stremler won the saddle bronc once again with 69 points.

Montero collected a runner-up finish in pole bending at 21.623 and she was fourth in goat tying, stopping the clock at 9.61. Jake Logan placed fourth in the tie-down roping in a time of 13.03 and Dusty Robertson was sixth in goat tying at 9.67.

Shaylee Robertson was 10th in breakaway roping with a time of 7.47, 25th in pole bending at 32.210 and 30th in barrel racing in a time of 20.928. Tanner Shearer and Shaun Mentaberry were sixth in team roping with a time of 32.340 and Trase Bell (17.590) and Luke Logan (17.830) were 12th and 13th in tie-down roping.

Hayley Hall placed 14th in goat tying at 13.900, Miller finished 22nd in barrel racing with a time of 19.885 and Stewart was 24th in pole bending at 32.927.

At the junior high level last Saturday, Quint Bell finished third in chute dogging in a time of 28.550 and was ninth in goat tying at 15.330. Julianne Montero placed fourth in barrel racing (19.106) and eighth in pole bending at 24.259.

Megan Miller posted two ninth-place finishes in barrel racing (19.426) and pole bending (24.885) and Cade Bell was fifth in boys goat tying at 15.070. Bailey Reynolds was 13th in pole bending in a time of 26.343 and 17th in barrel racing at 20.411.

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club will have the opportunity to show off in front of its home crowd this weekend at the Winnemucca Events Complex. Action gets underway at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
