The Humboldt County Commission will meet Tuesday, rather than their usual Monday, due to the Labor Day holiday. The meeting is also being held in the afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m. rather than starting in the morning, as it usually does.

1:05 - Administrative report
1:15 - Request by Humboldt Volunteer Hospice to use the courthouse for their "Lasting Lights of Love" memorial tree-lighting ceremony
1:30 - Discussion of three nuisance complaints. One for property at 4195 Turner Lane, the other at 4225 Rainbow Road and the third at 4795 West Thomas Canyon Road.
1:45 - Planning issues
2 p.m. - Report from Chris Stewart on the 96 Ranch sesquicentennial celebration and the results from the commission's contribution
2:15 - Possible award of the Humboldt County Library bookmobile bid
2:30 - Road matters
2:45 - Adoption of a resolution prepared by Lyon County supporting "Pass Bills Create Jobs"
3 p.m. - Review of the BLM's letter of Aug. 11, regarding three Desert Land Entries applications and a determination of the level of involvement Humboldt County wants to have in the development of the environmental impact study
3:45 Authorization for the district attorney to sign a stipulation related to a stay of the claims related to roads in wilderness areas in the suit Humboldt County and Delong Ranches filed against the U.S.
4 p.m. - Step one in the recruitment process for County Administrator including review of the current job description, salary and benefits, ideal candidate qualifications and questions to be asked or information to be required of the candidate, the level of advertising for the position, and all related matters.
