Hugh (Hughy) Taylor Murdock Sr., age 91, died peacefully on Aug. 22, 2013, at the home of his youngest son Gregory A. Murdock in Meridian, Idaho.
He was born May 30, 1922, in San Francisco, Calif., to Katherne Taylor and James Murdock. He was the fifth of six brothers and one sister. His brothers who passed before him were Jack Murdock, Jim Murdock, Leslie, (Red) Murdock, Walter Murdock and Clifford Murdock; his sister Bertina Murdock is still living.
He was a WW II Marine who survived an amphibious assault on the islands of Bougainville, Iwo Jima and Guam. After the war he married Mary Qwendelin Brewster and had four children - Brenda, Skip, Malcom and Gregory. He worked for Sierra Pacific Power for 35 years and lived in Winnemucca for most of his life.
He will be missed!
