The Humboldt River Basin Water Authority will be meeting locally Friday in the meeting room at Winnemucca Inn.
• 10:15 a.m. - The agenda includes discussion and possible action on water right filings.
• 10:30 a.m. - Coordination with the Nevada Mining Association will be discussed to address water resource issues of concern to HRBWA, including - the Oct. 29 Humboldt River Base Flow workshop, a resolution coordination meeting, possible placement, roles and responsibility of a mining representative on the HRBWA board of directors.
• 11:15 a.m. - Winnemucca Farms' representative will be back to discuss the status of a proposed aquifer storage and recharge project on the Humboldt River.
• 1 p.m. - HRBWA will determine whether to request the Army Corps of Engineers to formally review the jurisdictional determination from 2009 that named Rye Patch Reservoir and the Humboldt River system "Waters of the U.S." subject to federal jurisdiction.
• 1:30 p.m. - HRBWA will consider submission of written comments on a proposed rule published in the Federal Register by the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers regarding Waters of the U.S. subject to federal regulation under the Clean Water Act.
• 2 p.m. - HRBWA recommended bill draft requests approved by the Legislature's Interim Public Lands Committee including pit lake evaporation water rights and funding for cloud seeding.
• 2:45 p.m. - Recommendation to the five county commissions in HRBWA's member counties for amendments to county codes requiring a demonstration of availability of water rights to cover pit lake evaporation as a condition of approving projects resulting in pit lakes.
• 3:15 p.m. - Financial report and payment of invoices
