LOVELOCK - The Hot Potatoes Relay for Life team has been involved with the Lovelock event for five years. Through the years they have kept most of their original members.
The team co-captains are Donna Phillips and Deanne Davidson. The other team members are Gail and Jeanne Munk, Ida May Mori and Nancy List.
"The Hot Potatoes continue to participate in the relay because we feel that it is making a difference in finding a cure for cancer," Davidson said. "The hundreds of volunteers and contributors are making it happen. We want to be a part of that."
The team has set a goal of raising $2,500 this year.
"Fortunately we have met and exceeded our goal in the past, and are ready to do so this year," Davidson commented.
To do this the team will start with a Fabrics 'n Frames and Stuff sale on June 2 at 1635 Central Ave. in Lovelock. They will also be selling the paring knives that were very popular last year at the June 2 sale.
"We are most grateful for our contributors," Davidson said.
During the overnight relay event on June 22, Kristy Berge will be offering massages at the Hot Potatoes camp. In addition they will be selling their usual yummy stuffed baked potatoes; this has become a tradition of the team. Davidson said the Hot Potatoes should have "Made in America" items for sale at the overnight event also.
If you would like to make a donation or purchase the paring knives or the Made in America items prior to the overnight event, contact Davidson at 273-7258 or Phillips at 273-2106.
