WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in courthouse meeting room #201.
The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, public comment and discussion and possible action on the approval of the May 7 and May 21 regular meeting minutes.
The administrative report is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. Scheduled items include receipt of the clerk's 1st quarter report, possible approval of the chairman's signature on an agreement with UNR for staff support for the Humboldt Development Authority and adoption of a proclamation declaring June "Aviation Appreciation Month." Also scheduled are solid waste and public lands planning matters, miscellaneous reports and correspondence and claims for expenditures of county funds.
At 9:45 a.m. the board will a request from the Frontier Community Action Agency to have a Humboldt County commissioner or their representative serve on the agency's Board of Directors.
A public hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on an ordinance amending Chapter 15.04 "Building Code" of the Humboldt County Code by adopting the 2009 Edition of the International Energy Conservation Code with ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1 and other matters properly related thereto.
At 10:15 a.m. commissioners will hear a report from Sonoma Industries and the shredders regarding future operation of Sonoma Industries and the need for Humboldt County monetary support.
An appointment to the Humboldt General Hospital Board to replace Shellie Cooney, who has resigned, is scheduled for 10:45 a.m.
Road matters follow at 11 a.m. Scheduled items include the review and possible award of a bid for the 2012 chip seal project, a report of pending Road Department projects and miscellaneous road-related matters.
Negotiations with the Humboldt County Employee Association are scheduled for 11:15 a.m. This includes a closed session in accordance with NRS 288.220 for discussion with management representatives and possible approval of a contract with the HCEA for 2012-2013.
Scheduled for 11:30 a.m. is the review and possible approval of a Cooperative Fire Protection Agreement between the U.S. Department of the Interior BLM Winnemucca District and the Humboldt Fire Protection District.
That will be followed at 1:30 p.m. by the possible acceptance of a renewal proposal from the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool (POOL) and approval for payment from fiscal year 2012-2103 funds.
