Hospital board meets Tuesday, June 24th

Railroad property site improvements contract award up for consideration

Humboldt General Hospital's board of trustees will meet today beginning at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the monthly reports from the medical staff and financial overviews from the administration, this month's EMS department report will cover the handling of the FedEx truck wreck, and accident scene management in general.

Action items include the contract award for the site improvements needed to prepare railroad property at the corner of Bridge and Haskell streets for placement of the modular office building that will replace the doctor's office space that's currently in the stand-alone medical office building behind the hospital, facing Haskell Street. Plans call for that building to be demolished to make way for hospital expansion to the edge of the property facing Haskell Street. That expansion will make it possible to provide memory care in Winnemucca and to remodel the current long-term care facility, Harmony Manor.

The board will consider an order for a $50,600 repair job on Phillips fluoroscopy equipment. And, as always the administrator will report on physician recruitment efforts including physician inquiries, scheduled visits and proposed contracts of any prospective medical providers.

Board meetings are held in the Sarah Winnemucca conference room down the stairs at the main hospital entrance (also accessible by elevator.) The general public has the opportunity to address the board at both the beginning and end of the meetings.[[In-content Ad]]
