WINNEMUCCA - Thanks to the generosity of Newmont Mining Corporation's employees, the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice will be better able to provide free care to the terminally and chronically ill residents of Humboldt County.
The Newmont Mining Corporation Legacy Fund is an employee-driven donation program that funds numerous community organizations. Newmont established the fund to create a more strategic and long-term community investment program.
Employees can give directly to local nonprofits that address existing social service needs or to an endowment fund that will help sustain communities after mining operations cease. Newmont matches these donations dollar-for-dollar.
