I was browsing the newest catalog on this year's county fair events when I noticed that the Mutt Show is being continued.
My daughter, Andrea Mehrer, created the Mutt Show for the fair and worked very hard to gather goodies for the participants as well as hold a raffle for the first three years of the show. She visited many generous business folks in Winnemucca who donated for the raffle. All the proceeds went to various charities in the community over the years.
Last September, shortly after that county fair and Andrea's last Mutt Show production, Andrea suffered a brain aneurism and has been under medical care since.
I hope the good people of Winnemucca could do this year's Mutt Show in Andrea's honor as she deserves many kudos for her tireless work to produce a most popular event for kids and adults alike.
