WINNEMUCCA -Community residents are invited to celebrate Halloween a little early this year with Scooby-Doo and the gang as they try to solve the mystery of who is stealing all the children's trick-or-treat bags.
Lowry High School Drama and Stagecraft will present "Scooby-Doo and the Trick-or-Treat Thief" Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 18 - 19, in the LHS auditorium. Each evening's performance will begin at 7 p.m.; the doors will open for seating at 6:30 p.m. Costumes are welcome.
Lowry High School English teacher and play director Corrine James said the play will feature all members of the famous gang of "meddling" detectives plus a few other twists and turns.
"This will be a fun experience for young and old alike," she said. "We would love for our community to support these youth and their talents."
James said dozens of students have spent hundreds of hours over the past months preparing for the production. The group has overseen everything from sets and costumes to lighting and even advertising.
"The whole process has been exciting and motivating to them," she said. "To take something from script to production is quite a feat, and something these students can definitely be proud of."
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and $1 for youngsters. For more information, please call Lowry High School at (775) 623-8130.
