WINNEMUCCA - Every year Spare Time Bowl hosts the Hall of Fame Turkey Shoot and the High Desert Bowling Association (HDBA) recognizes and honors those that have made a significant contribution to the association and bowling in general.
All proceeds from the Turkey Shoot benefit YABA - the Young American Bowling Alliance scholarship fund.
Past Honorees in attendance included Louise Greinstein, Craig Crawford, Patty Ellifritz and Clarence Whitted.
The criteria to be nominated for the Hall of Fame are as follows: Must have served on the HDBA board for a minimum of two years; must have participated in tournaments held here; must be an active member of the association and 55 years or older.
This year's inductees into the Hall of Fame are Carolyn Haylett and Mike Ellifritz.
Carolyn Haylett is a long-standing USBC member (1986) and served on the HDBA board as director for six years. Haylett is a USBC certified coach and has coached kids leagues for many years.
She actively bowls in a minimum of three leagues weekly, subbing in more when needed, as well as competing in state and national tournaments. Thank you, Carolyn, for your time and commitment to the High Desert Bowling Association.
Mike Ellifritz is a long-standing USBC member (1985) and served on the HDBA board as secretary/treasurer for two years and director for six years.
Ellifritz actively bowls in league and has competed in state and national tournaments. The High Desert Bowling Association thanks you for your dedication and service to the bowling community.
