Humboldt General Hospital CEO/Administrator Jim Parrish has joined the Women's Choice Award Healthcare Advisory Board.
The Women's Choice Award empowers women with information to make smart brand choices for themselves and their loved ones.
Awards are based on surveys of tens of thousands of women, as well as research conducted in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on what drives the consumer experience for women versus men.
The Women's Choice Award Healthcare Advisory Board is comprised of executive level healthcare professionals with a deep expertise in healthcare issues and patient experience.
WomenCertified Inc. announced the formation of the advisory board as a means to help fuel and advance its mission to elevate standards of patient care for women and their families.
Board members will provide insight, findings, expertise and thought leadership on the trends and challenges facing today's consumers when choosing hospitals and healthcare providers, and provide solutions aimed at helping women who are responsible for 90 percent of family healthcare decisions.
Delia Passi, founder and CEO of WomenCertified Inc., said the creation of the board is essential to the future success of women in managing healthcare decisions.
"Empowering women to make smart healthcare choices is most effective when executed locally through our hospital partners," she said
"These leaders are at the helm of the most successful hospitals in America, living our mission each day to provide outstanding patient experiences. Their success and guidance will support our goal to raise the standards of care for consumers through consumer awareness and education."
Parrish said he was honored to be asked to participate on the board. "Women do drive the majority of healthcare decisions in this country," he said, "and it's our job as a hospital to meet their expectations."
Parrish continued, "My experience on this board will not only help further women's choices nationwide, but will ensure that exceptional care, dignity and compassion are our uncompromising standard at home as well."
Harmony Manor, Humboldt General Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility, recently learned that it received the Women's Choice Award from WomenCertified distinguishing it as a 2014 America's Best for Extended Care.
Humboldt General Hospital was first awarded "America's Best" status in 2013.
