Humboldt General Hospital CEO/Administrator Jim Parrish will chair the 18th annual Western Regional Trustee Symposium this June.
The event, which will be held June 11 - 13 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson, Nevada, offers a setting for trustees and hospital executives to step outside the boardroom, meet alongside peers in healthcare leadership, explore topics that will enhance the board/CEO relationship, and focus on best practices and strategies designed to fortify board operations and strengthen organizational goals.
Parrish, who has been a regular attendee at the conference along with board members from HGH, said this year's theme, "Healthcare: A High Stakes Business," reminds participants that as stewards of healthcare governance, having the right information is critical to making informed decisions.
"This symposium is about strengthening our roles as leaders and meeting the challenges of improving patient care, focusing on quality, ensuring fiscal stability, and charting a course for tomorrow," said Parrish.
Parrish said the event will kick off Wednesday, June 11, with a keynote address from veteran trustee Bernice L. Washington: "Delivering Results in a Changing Healthcare Environment: The Trustee's Role."
Following, trustees and healthcare executives will enjoy two days of concurrent sessions with information on timely topics such as making difficult decisions about services and programs, perfecting the patient experience, creating value through lean leadership, and a workshop designed for new trustees.
Parrish has been involved in the conference leadership for several years, and agreed to take the helm at this year's event at the urging of his fellow healthcare executives.
"This is a very quality program with top-notch speakers," he said. "I know from the perspective of Humboldt General Hospital, we have always felt we've benefitted greatly by attending the Western Regional Trustee Symposium."[[In-content Ad]]
