WINNEMUCCA - The Country Rose floral shop is partnering with The Humboldt Sun for a contest designed to bring a smile to any mom - a "Draw Mom" contest for kids.
Children ages preschool through sixth grade are invited to clip the ad from the newspaper, draw a picture of their mother and then turn in their finished artwork to The Country Rose.
Entries are due by 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11. The contest will be judged by the staff of the Country Rose, based on drawing skill, use of colors, neatness and creativity.
Grand prize winner receives a gift for mom worth $50, plus a year's subscription to The Sun, plus a $10 Chamber Check gift certificate just for them. Two runners-up receive a year's subscription to The Sun and a $10 Chamber Check gift certificate.
Winners will be called by The Country Rose to receive their Mother's Day prize before the big day. The winning artist, plus their mom and representatives from The Country Rose, will also appear in an ad in The Humboldt Sun.
