Helen T. Hansen passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. She was 94.
Helen was born on January 2, 1920 in Twin Falls, Idaho the daughter of Thomas and Olga (Brose) Jones. Helen married Henry H. Hansen in Virginia City, Nevada October 1940. Helen lived the past year in Yerington coming from Winnemucca, Nevada. She was a member of the Baptist Church, she loved horses, flowers, gardening, knitting, doing crossword puzzles and she truly loved being with her family. She had been active in the Polar Bear Auquacise, the High Desert Team Penner, the Handicap Riding Group.
She is survived by her son, Ott Hansen of Pleasant Valley; her daughters, Inger Casey of Winnemucca, Barbara Enochson of Yerington and Mary Ann Blair of Tonopah, Arizona; her seven grandchildren, Inger Aiono, Toby Enochson, Clay Blair, Jack Hansen, Holly Hansen, Steffanie Biedler and Shawn Halstead; and numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry; her sisters, Barbara Knoll and Willie Halpern; her brother, Henry (Hank) Jones and a granddaughter, Lorie Blair.
Memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Sonoma Baptist
Church, on the corner of Muddy Road and Grass Valley Road in Winnemucca. A reception will follow at the Community Center on Grass Valley Road.
