WINNEMUCCA - Within the last year, the sheriff of Humboldt County has enrolled his agency in an online computer program that will greatly assist his detectives with locating and recovering stolen property.
A computer program called "Leads Online" is rolling out a program that will allow the general public to keep a secure online record of their valuable property. This record would be accessible from anywhere and there is no cost to enroll.
This system will allow individuals to store serial numbers, item descriptions, pictures and scans of receipts so that the items may be more easily identified in the event of theft or loss. This information would be very helpful to have for reporting losses to insurance companies as well.
