ELKO - Great Basin College will host two Elko favorites on Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. Stephanie Schneiderman, an independent singer-song writer from Portland, Ore., will again take the GBC Theatre stage, this time with her special guest, Tony Furtado.
Schneiderman, who has made both solo appearances and with her band, Dirty Martini, recently released a new CD, Rubber Teardrop. Providing a seamless combination of synthetic and organic sounds, she has quickly become one of the most important, emerging international electronic musical artists.
Schneiderman is married to Tony Furtado. The two are touring together, and Furtado will appear as her guest. Furtado is one of the most respected indy-rock and Americana musical artists in the nation. Elko audiences have been inspired by his expertise on the banjo, the slide guitar and his stories.
Together, the two promise an evening of unprecedented music entertainment. Tickets to the event are just $10 and will be available at the door and at locations to be announced.
Great Basin College is a member institution of the Nevada System of Higher Education and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. For 40 years GBC has provided opportunities in higher education for rural Nevadans.
