Grace Peluaga - Obituary

Grace Peluaga, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Boise, Idaho.

She was born May 8, 1923, to Bruno and Candida Marcuerquiaga at Winnemucca, Nev. Grace was raised at Horse Creek Ranch in Kings River Valley and enjoyed special times with family at Riverside Ranch, better known as Wallupees. She married Vic Peluaga on Jan. 21, 1950. They spent many happy years together as he worked for Tungsten Mine and the Valmy power plant as a heavy equipment operator until his death in 1993. Grace worked at Kahara's Laundry and later in the kitchen at Humboldt County General Hospital until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters: Bruno, Joe, Leon, John, Julio, Frank, Henry, Mary Zabala and Connie Farmer.

Two sisters, Millie Graham of Winnemucca, and Carmen Clausen of Boise, survive her. Grace had no children, but leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and treated like her own.

"Tia Grace," as she was affectionately called, loved a good cup of coffee, going out for breakfast at Keith's Model T, and eating strawberry crepes at the Griddle. Tia Grace could sometimes be shy, liked to drive her car a little too fast, and could also make you laugh. She maintained her sense of humor to the end, telling the hospice ambulance driver not to drive too fast and get a ticket because she was "going home." She will be missed greatly.

No services will be held at her request. Cremation will be performed and her remains returned to her childhood home.[[In-content Ad]]
